Cricbuzz.com: Cricbuzz.com: Dhoni bemoans hapless India's batting woes

  • JP · 6 months ago
Indian team has no fire. They have only fear while playing. Hope they change it in future games
  • APG · 6 months ago
I think Dhoni & Gary have done a gr8 job apart from this last three matches. Speaking abt Dhoni's tactics like sending Jadeja up the order, he always takes risks, looks good when it works. like raina bowling in death overs for chennai or Joginder sharma bowling final over in semi's & finals of 2007 world cup (who can forget that, no one complained then).so cant blame him if for once his tactics dont work.
Having said that, being a Indian fan i cant take the crap of being tierd because of IPL. further as a fan i am most disappointed with the way our team played. Absolutely with no intensity, whether it be bowling, batting or fielding!!! Yuvraj, Rohit & Raina misfielding let alone others & it wasnt one off, they repeatedly did that in all games.or like Yusuf & done not running for 2nd when India needed 9 of 2 balls.
they surely deserve a flak for the effort.
its ok if they lost or crashed out but atleast put up a fight or show some intensity

oh come on.. jus one bad tourney n u r branding the dhoni-gary pair a bad one!!!! u forgot al the success stories of them so early?? agreed u cant bank upon the past laurels.. but r u successful throughout ur life??? haven't u made any mistakes at al!!! come on.. support them..

    What a great attitute.
  • Suraj · 6 months ago
I think nothing but think its all Dhoni default. He is not a good player but his luck are good. He is not Dhoni as he was at start. This time he is overconfident. All other are playing well but not Dhoni. He should came to bat at last so he can defend the wicket as he doing.
Some time he come at one down position , where he never deserves.
Also Sehwag is out of tournament due to Dhoni who is a great -2-2-2 player.

Also other members are not happy with Dhoni. He should leave cricket so other can replace him.
I just don't like Dhoni . He is not a cricketer. Nothing at all.

There are two lucky guy's one is Dhoni and other is Himesh Reshmiya

Have no talent but at top !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    That is tragedy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Ritesh · 6 months ago
Well said suraj! I agree with you.
  • Ashish · 6 months ago
Dhoni sucks again!! why the hell I sharma in the team he even not bowl ?? wht a poor mgmt by captain !!! Dhoni big sucker
  • JP · 6 months ago
Shewag, Yuvi, Yousuf, Harbajan and Irfan should have been in playing 11 (though Yuvi and harbajan did not show their match winning potential), if India wish to win any T20 game.. Hope dhoni realizes that now. Irfan is a good batsman for this format to change the game especially when Dhoom dhoni is not around.
  • Ashish · 6 months ago
Myself Ashish nehra, Dhoni always hate me and never give a chance to come back in team...

whatever ashish is saying is 101% correct, his way may be wrong. but could you suggest any better way to communicate this? Nehra has performed very well in IPL. He deserved to be in team not Ishant. got it?

  • classy · 6 months ago
Dhoni shud not point at others for defeat, Main batting failure was himself which caused the tournament exit. He lost his mind and he lost faith in some of his players like Irfan who performed better than Ishant in IPL and also in WC. He is in a confused state of mind and does something thinking whatever he do will turn gold. Hard work and dedication is what will get you results not luck. He has lost reflexes as well as keeper.
  • siva · 6 months ago
dont expect India to win all the time without putting effort. Too much cricket also the culprit for Defeat.
BCCI do not think of two Ipl s in one year. This will lead to too much exposure our players to International players.
Good luck India.Have faith in your team ability .
  • Ricky Ponting · 6 months ago
Don't expect to win all the time? When were you winning all the time? Doesn't that sound bit ridiculous to you my friend?
  • naveen · 6 months ago
Ricky it's funny that you comment about winning, india is better than Aus now and winning more matches than Aus does. Atleast reached Super 8, Aus has been kicked out in the preliminart match itself. Wait n see india will be the champion in the upcoming WC.
  • swaroopdots · 6 months ago
I dont understand when Dhoni says "The team was up for it right from the warm-up," when 6 of his batsmen of a team of 11 fail terribly. Its just not abt batting, its abt how u handle a team. When Dhoni himself cant predict his batting how is he gonna lead 6 batsmen. When the captain performs he can always question a player in his team of his performance but it isnt the case here. and Dhoni cant ask Jadeja y he let the team down. I guess Dhoni is trying for some record.. 10 straight losses..lol

Now there r 2 options for Dhoni
    1. Rediscover his form and get only the right ppl in form for the job (not an easy option)

    2. Can quit captaincy and go play some domestic (easiest option)

One thing is for sure even Sachin wasnt spared from being fired, so Dhoni's reputation is now on the wall. Its up to him to pull it either way. 1 billion ppl doesnt watch a game to c their team failing so miserably. Indian team has the best of potential, its abt how u use it.. May God bless India... Jai Hind
  • Aravind Baride · 6 months ago
    Yes, you are right.
Dhoni who pointed out the off-the-form players and who played a crucial part in sacking the great legends. Now he is the epicenter of the teams failure. And infact he is failed as a batsman.......failed as a captain.........and more over failed as a keeper.
Now a kid from the Indian team has every right to question him about his reaction toward his failure (as he does few years back).
  • Namid · 6 months ago
Dhoni is a good captian but we are all blaming him for his mistakes which he had done.He is concentrating on adds rather than the cricket team.First our BCCI should think about it.Some strict rules should be made about the adds. Also promoting Rohit as a opener also a big mistake he will definitely the match finisher in the middle order. If Yosuf is opener inplace of rohit thn the match result was different.Rohit is correct place in the middle order.Anyway Dhoni started a bad time for him.

Boys, better luck for the next matches.................
  • Jenil · 6 months ago
What the hell Rohit Sharma doing in the opening, he not at all proved that he was a best opener. No one can replace Shewag as an opener. If yusuf has opened innnings India would have won this match. And dhoni is not fit to be a player for T20 cricket, he is excellent test player..............
  • Dhoni · 6 months ago
Hey im not a excellent test player and the world knows..
I know only to play helicoptar shot..but due to lack of fuel and taking global warming into consideration i stopped playing the "helicoptor shot"..
so im not responsible for my poor batting display..
  • M_S_Dhoni · 6 months ago

Its an absolute batting collapse for india including captain, i agree with gary kristen its too much of play for india including IPL played twice this year which drew them to over confidence and lack of interest.
  • swaroopdots · 6 months ago
Its not the team Kevin which was over confident.. Honestly we were over confident abt our team.. its y v r yelling Dhoni..
  • anirban · 6 months ago
One more defeat...it really high time now how we looking at the game.
Dhoni should concentrate on his batting beside doings adds.
  • Ajin · 6 months ago
I agree with that.I wonder were the Old Dhoni is? The guy who used to deposit the cricket ball outta the cricket ground in a consistent fashion, de moralising the opposition bowlers completely, now scoring not even a run a ball. Its high time he re invent his game plan itself.
  • Dhoni..power of milk · 6 months ago
Ajin u r really a fool..i hits at starting periods for securing a place in team, now i got captaincy itself, so why i wants to hit or play?..anyway don't worry in some adds i will play cricket that time u can see my hitting
  • Dhoni · 6 months ago
Read my post about my "Helicopter shot" above.

  • Jenil · 6 months ago
why you all guys scolding dhoni.... He is a great and youngest captain for india. What the hell Rohit performed in the opening no one was commenting him. In that place shewag would scored strike rate more than 200.00 and it is positive thing to India to won the match..... So dont scold Dhoni anymore guys...........

Dhoni first you should know how to play cricket then you will become a captain and you are always blaming senior cricketers.now the lacking of experience is showing the fault to defend 130 runs. BCCI should think about it.
  • Jassi · 6 months ago
DHONI IS GETTING OVERCONFIDENT AND COCKY. (I THINK HE IS MORE INTERESTED IN ADVRETISEMENT THAN PRACTISING HIS GAME). WHY:-

    1. Dhoni is not fit for T20........ 23 balls 11 against WI........ today too less than 100 strike rate and aginst england wen boundaries were required all he was doing was to take singles-----Biggest failure unable to clear boundaries.
    2. why RP was not asked to ball his 4th over aginst england.
    3. Dropping ojha and irfan.
    4. Persisting wid out of form Ishant sharma.
    5. Asking jadeja to bat before yuvraj.
    6. Repeated failure of sharma at top---- his is mid order player.
  • cricketPagla · 6 months ago
    IPL IPL IPL
TOOOOOOOOOOOO much IPL pressure matches b4 a BIG tournament - as Wasim Akram mentioned earlier [and all of you were against Wasim], and even former chief selector of India about too much IPL ------------- now the coach even saying the same ----------- country first... it is normal - if u work too muchhhh for a long under pressure -- u will be exhausted in more deeper pressure.

T20 WC has more more pressure than IPL.

those who say that SA also played IPL -- but not like Indians - 100% Indian players were in IPL and they played almost all the matches.

DO NOT blame Dhoni only - he is a better choice as captian so far. He did well, he is having a bad patch but others must fire.

It is unlucky but do not hope for toooo much from any team. Tooooo much hope from Indian team causes them more pressure and now u r upset. think positive.

these r nothing but games. Even Australia lost and out from this mini-version of game with more uncertainty.

if Ind plays BAD in ODIs or test matches for few series -- then u can say that this time is BAD, otherwise with the performance of T20 --- do NOT be so aggressive to your team.

Supporting one team does not mean that killing their souls and keep them in unhappy mental stress. Relax n enjoy sports - even though u can not or do not play.

    Sorry for my looong post...
  • Bright · 6 months ago
It is good to some one actually back Dhoni.

GUYS need to understand that it is not only DHONI playing in the team but also others.

Dhoni is a great mind, he will fire! Taking Dhoni out of captiancy will be STUPID idea when the test and ODIs are going fine.

Remember India only played 5 T20 since last T20 world cup so how come do you expect great things from a team who has not really played T20 as a team less than 5 times.
  • waugh · 6 months ago
so India won matches against minnows only.
actually they r a timid team outside of india.these days we used to hear that indian batsmen r afraid of short pitch balls but how about yesterdays SA spin bowlings.
Actually they always look for excuses... poor indian cricket

  • Anonymous · 6 months ago
it is not fair to blame Dhoni just because we faced an early exit from the WC. since the last t20 WC till before this WC, India has been doing extremely good. And whole world extolled Dhoni and our team. Remember that you cant ask any team to produce 100% success all the time. look at AUS which had much early exit than do india had. Its becuase of Dhoni that India has become so strong and went on winning series against tough cricketing nations like Australia, newzealand etc overseas. I personally feel Rohit sharma is not fit to be an opener, infact not fit to be an international player. He doesnt have maturity. we can see in one of his interviews in one match, he said it was his type of game..... when u r thought to be replacing swashbuckler sehwag( ideally none could do that), you must atleast come up to the expectations.. IPL has given him lot of fame( the so called " citi under 23 player of the tournament" or whatever), which made him feel that he is on top of the world and overconfident. for god's sake India dont want these kind of immatured players to be on the side. there are lot many people who are waiting for their chances and are more responsible . Suresh Raina is an utterfailure in the tournament with his lacklustre performance. what amuses (rather shocks) me is the decision not to include Irphan pathan when he serves the purpose of an experienced and controlled all rounder. yousuf Pathan didnt have enough time to play his own innings. he should be batting at the top atleast one down. I can only say one thing please Support Dhoni who is a better captain..he is the future for our indian team... we have seen many players who had utterly failed as captain right from the azharuddins and tendulkars to gangulys and dravids , please support Dhoni.
  • indibar · 6 months ago
    Ganguly was a failure????????????????

    great knowledge about cricket history...
  • Anonymous · 6 months ago
I just meant there are rough patches for every captain for that matter every player... in many instances Ganguly too failed.. and i can also provide u the facts they failed and also where dhoni succeeded.. and what do u know abt their success rates... ? name one most successful captian of India that has the best record and yet without being involved in controversies??
  • Kumkum · 6 months ago
    Get lost Anonymous,

India was alread out of World cup before this match but this your stupid and arrognat Dhoni didn't learn any lesson from the defeat against England. We all know--- 'Failure is the pillar of success', but how many failure u need to know how to earn success? Dhoni is a supreme egoistic guy, who beleives that he is only right and whole world is wrong, that's why he again came with his same side with that kid called Jadeja and the tall looser Ishant Sharma instead of Irfan Pathan and Ojha... I can't understand why he is so rude to Irfan and Ojha? They were performing very good and also they are not injured then why the hell Dhoni feels that Irfan and Ojha should be dropped? Irfan Pathan should take retirement because his captain is his No.1 enemy... as long as Dhoni is captain he will continue to disapoint Irfan.
  • Shekhar Tiwary · 6 months ago
    Dude...

Azharuddin won 11 trophies (triangular and four nations or more nationas tournaments are accepted as trophy) for India, he won 11 Test series for India as well and won many two nations serieses.. many players got chances to rise their career and become world famous under Azhar's captaincy... example Sachin was a lower order batsman but when Azhar became captain he promoted Sachin as openner, same thing he did to Ganguly also. Ganguly is the most successful Test captain for India, under his captaincy all the Indian cricketers got the agression in the game, he is the most agressive Indian captain... and Ganguly reform the Indian team after Indian team became weak and suffer from the match fixing contrversies in the year 2000, Ganguly captained a heart broken side and with great captaincy he let the Indian people get the taste of cricket..., Ganguly's team reached the final of the main cricket World Cup and at least his team never lost a tournament in England. Dravid was only a period captain for India but the gentleman of cricket also created a history for India under his captaincy... India won 17 consequtive victories in ODIs by chasing the total under the wall Dravid. Dravid was never arrogant and that's why he didn't lose his form like other captains while they were the captain of the side rather Dravid himself was in a superb form when he was playing cricket as the captain of his side, he respected and adored the match winner players like Sehwag, Zaheer and Yuvraj, he never quarelled with fellow team members, India won many other serieses under Dravid's captaincy as well, Dravid captained India to win the Test series in West Indies, in England, India won tri nation's ODi series in Ireland (agaisnt South Africa in Final), won Test series in England, won in Test and ODI series in Pakistan, at the end if you remove only the main world cup failure in 2007 (where all players were out of form) Dravid's average of success was superb and better than Dhoni because Mr. Dependable Dravid was a short-term captain of India and he himself resined from captaincy when he felt controversies were rising around him and Ganguly.
  • Neel-Looking 4 a New Horizon · 6 months ago
India needs a change in captaincy immediately, Dhoni dont know how to use his weapons properly, i cant under stand why in that crucial match against England Jadeja got a promotion in batting order when Yuvraj was in form.
And what Dhoni himself did, at the time of need.He doesnt have any quality of captaining India.

Next WC is just 9 months away. So please dont be so disheartened.
Dhoni is one of the best captians we ever had. Now every team has its own lows and high days. He is human after all. Please don't spread hatred for the poor guy. All professionals make mistake at some point of time. Dont forget Indian team had no time for rejuvenation. They must be mentally and physically tired. And its not easy to win w/o Sehwag and sachin. You could blame IPL but only the timing of IPL is actually relevant here. IN IPL all Indian players had played. ANd it must have disturbed the harmony of the team playing in different clubs. Others played for money and experience. Indians played like tey were playing actual International cricket. Give these guyz a reak. SUpport them. they will bounce back for sure. He has done pretty well so far. Just refresh your minds. RIght from Australia series India has won all series(home or abroad). The law of averages is playing its part. Dont get carried away by one loss.

Riki. Good . you got the point. i too got the feeling that it was Dhoni's ego which made him play the the same loosing team again.

an amazing to drop the alruonder who can bate better than and can boll better the bollers.and very talented match winner.that is irfan pathan....indian didn,t do for him olny increased his disapointment. if he was in the other team he would be the best allrounder of the world infact.
one thing u have to keep in mind is that for the t20 matches only phisically strog peole r needed not like ishant sharma and jadeja like test players.and dhoni also lost his tamper he seems to be a good test player that is it.
  • Rao · 6 months ago
Even the best performers can not be "in the mood" on a given day. Unfortunately, Dhoni and his team had this "kill-the-mood bug bite." So they were just not themselves when they played England. I suggest that some "good anti-bugs (verbal tonics (not drugs, mind you)" before a match would help elevate the moods to put up better performances. The post match would only invite more "kill-the-mood" bugs after an important match is lost. I guess the captain has to shield himself and his team from these bugs and provide the "WE-WILL-WIN tonic" to the team. If the leader himself gets sick with the bugbite and it shows in his poor performances consistently in the next 3-4 matches, then HE does NEED to lay off for sometime until he gets cured. Continue with him and India will have a team low on morales and performance will be far down the capability standards of the team. India has witnessed this with EVERY captain and every change has always made India come back with a bang until the bug-bite sickness affects the NEW captain. What ya say?

Sehwag should be Next Captain for few series, not Permanant because Dhoni is Good Captain.

it is the lesson for indian team & dhoni as well.cricket is all about performance.if you will perform then success is yours & if u will perform outside the ground only (orally) ,you will be a loser.it is not the matter of feeling proud & overconfidence that you hav big guns....at the end of the day performance does matter.

Indian will only play for money, No Money No Win. I guess it's better for ICC to take International Status from India and give it to Ireland. Guys seriously STFU our team has been doing great since we won the T20 WC 2007 its just that cricket is sport and sometimes nothing goes your way. I myself play football and even though sometimes I am in a team of good players we get defeated by not so good players only reason we do not click. If you see Dhoni had been consistent for more than 2 years and now when he finally loses a tournament badly everyone starts blaming him. You all are bunch of hypocrites, if you hate Dhoni then you should stop watching cricket matches all together so that you don't feel bad. I really donot care if we lose 1 or 2 series as long as we 7-8 against them. Last time no one expected India to win till we were in the finals against pakistan. But this time there was a lot of pressure from everyone even Sachin put a lot of pressure on them. Instead of criticizing Dhoni we should support him and make him feel like the same fearless leader he used to be.
  • Shekhar Tiwary · 6 months ago
    Varun

All the other time Dhoni was a good human being as captain but the continuous success made him arrognat. People like u started worshipping Dhoni and made temple of him, thus Dhoni started to think that he is the lord of Indian cricket. Last 2 years Dhoni was new and didn't dare to start rift with match-winner players, he was respectful to other players like Viru, Irfan and Yuvy..., all the team members were happy because there were no controversies and they were a unit. But last 2 years's success (most of the success came thru Sachin, Sehwag, Zaheer, Yuvraj and Gambhir) under his captaincy made Dhoni ultimate egoistic and he started to think 'hum se bada kaun hai?', also started dirty politics... he is rude to seniors and only 2 seniors were remaining in his team (Sehwag and Zaheer)..., Zaheer is friend to him and not a threat to his captaincy and was not shining as a batsman as Zaheer is abowler, but Sehwag is the most prolific batsman and vice captain that things made Dhoni feeling insecure, Sehwag was made vice-captain by removing Dhoni's personal favourite Yuvraj from that post in 2008, these things made Dhoni the biggest enemy of Sehwag and he was waiting for the right time to kick Sehwag out of team, the time came when Sehwad dind't do good in IPL 2009 and was injured in that tournament... Dhoni found his golden chance to kick Sehwag out and he did so, even before this World cup has started...., created a big controversy among the team members, destroyed the ballance of the team and it's batting order. After Sehwag... Dhoni's victims were Irfan and Ojha whom he droped for his favourite Ishant and Jadeja even in crucial matches, he didn't care that Ojha and Irfan were in good form and were doing very good by taking crucial wickets by giving less runs, Dhoni didn't want thses two players to shine and make a parmanent place in the team that's why he doesn't let these two to complete their 4 overs in match even after taking wickets and spending less runs, rather he let the expensive and wicketless Ishant Sharma to bowl all his 4 overs..., Dhoni's this kind of egoistic things proved as a big blow to the team's balance and thus our team made it's exit from the world cup but even after exit Dhoni still kept thinking he is right, great and whole India and the world are wrong, that's why he came with the same side which lsot to England and also didn't change the main 2 loosers Ishant Sharma and R.Jadeja even after so many cry from the fans and other Indian former cricketers..., if Dhoni were a fair captain and does fair to all players, gives chance to the in-form players and if India would lost even with in-form and match-winning players in the team then nobody would say a word against Dhoni but this failure is created by Dhoni and by his arrogant, egoistic and selfish nature, how anybody can win without his good players... he didn't respect the performance of Irfan and Ojha, just dropped them because he doesn't like them personally and included useless players like Ishant and Jadeja even after knowing and seeing that they were harming the team and proving as match-loosers right from the warm-matches... Dhoni arrogantly played with these loosers who made him exit in the 'do or die' match against England.... he didn't learn any lesson and again came with same side, only because his ego and he doesn't care how the 1 billion Indian people are suffering! That's why we people are bound to feel Dhoni as the big villian, his arrogant decisions made India lose all the matches in super8, India lost all the matches against the major teams only because of Dhoni's ego..., if he would do fair... and even after that India is out of world cup even from the 1st round, we would continue our support and respect towards Dhoni as a charming captain..., but....!!!

Dhoni is soo arrogent that he didnot want 2 lose their LOSING COMBINATION.The same thing i expected 2 years ago ( 1st t20 wc) in a lucky way india won it. so now it reached to their original form. So there is nothing 2 scold 4 india. Only thing selectors must do is to chance the team completely for all t20's including pinch hitter dhoni(lol) then we might win atleast 1 match in 3rd t20 wc. I hope india all the best.

India too is scared like Australia, They lost their fire power. The way Dhoni bats seems like he just need singles. foot work of all the batsmen was bad. Give them some break Let them rest for atleast 2 weeks and somebody teach them batting, bowling and fielding. I think they have forgotten it :-) Dhoni need to change hsi attitide , also never listen to other management guys :-)

According to the performance shown by players, I can say that Indian cricket team was in super 8 because there was no big team in group A.

Actually, we are all losing our sense of proportion after just the 3rd straight defeat in the T20 World Cup . But lets look at the positives - after being shunted out of the tournament , we have at least been saved of further humiliation . Had we faced the other teams , we would have to lost them too. What a revelation - we ca'nt play fast bowling , we ca'nt play spinners , we ca'nt play on fast , bouncy wickets , we ca'nt play on turning wickets . In 20-20 , we play like we are playing in tests . Our openers are not in form , neither are the other batsmen ( except Yuvraj ) . Ishant does not know where to bowl - but he has to be accomodated in the team . The poor chap has no clue as to what is happening around him , but prefers to fondle a sweet littee kid of the Kirsten household . The captain thankfully continues to have faith in him . The captain also has faith in all his friends , who support him , even when it comes to parading their solidarity with their 'friendly captain ' in front of the media . They all believe in sinking or swimming together .
But lets not worry . There are several matches coming up . One day series against Australia , South Africa , England , Champions trophy et al , are all coming up , in the next few months , as also a few test series thrown in for good measure . So , there will be enough opportunities to sell other people's wares . While there is no time to receive National Awards or enough time to practice and iron over obvious technical deficiencies , there is enough time to pose with film stars , and be seen in Page 3 gossip articles . The media will soon conduct a kangaroo trial , holding a few players guilty , but will soon be swamped with stories about Sehwag's recovery and his good holiday jaunt with his family . The fans's attention will diverted by sermons from certain cricketers ( with vested interests ) - their job is to promote their ' sons of soil ' , all with the powerful backing of state associations , and agents who manage their careers .
I agree that we need to be patient with this team , because they have delivered good results in the past , and have the potential to bounce ( ...ooch.. ) back . The problem is not that the team has lost , exposing all its frailities . The problem is in the cavalier attitude of the captain and his friends in BCCI ( Rajiv Shukla , Srikkanth etc ) As if all this is not enough , we will all be treated to discourses by veteran Mumbai cricketers , like Ravi Shastri , Sunil Gavaskar etc , on how we should continue supporting the current team . All these guys get so much of money , through BCCI that they are obliged to toe the BCCI line . Now Kirsten will be pilloried , when the poor guy had actually no role in the team's debacle . He happily brings his son , Joshua , who then gets cuddled by the homesick team . After all , these guys are playing matches , non stop. The coach is not involved in team selection , nor does he know anything about the batting order . The poor chap puts up with all this nonsense because he wants to perpetuate his job , and does'nt want to run foul of the establishment .
What should we then do ? We need to be patient - and lets wait for the next extravaganza . These guys will rise like a pheonix , and we will all be happy once again .
    Amen .

Don't expect to win all the time? Why not? Cant India Play consistent Cricket like australians in their peak period? Why does Indian batsmen go out of form collectively?

Reasons for this result in the T20 WC :
    Lack of rest
Foreign players are exposed to our weakness in the IPL
    Team combination not right
Batting order not right in some matches
    Absence of Sehbag
Dhoni unable to motivate the team

a cricket team consists of 11 players. they are lead by 1 captain. when the whole team fails to perform. is the captain only to blame? i don't think so. if i m wrong then make cricket a 1 man game and allow only the captain to play. and expecting 100% from a captain or a team is so much irrelevent. the cricket gurus who are commenting. look at them. do they themselves reflect 100% success. ofcourse not. blaming dhoni won't do. blame the whole team. it did't perform. but its a past now. think of the future is my advice.

Its all because of Dhoni's over confidence and irrespect towards senior player and nothing else everyone has to come on earth oneday Dhoni was flying in air and was arrogant for senior players its gud that india is nw out of tournment hope this will teach some lesson to dhoni and will help for 50over world cup and next 20over world cup too.
    Thanks Indian cricket team....

Always respect to seniors dhoni Everyone is not perfect always....

So what has changed? Our fans worship them when they come victorious and burn their effigies when they loose. We dont have to do either. Sport is a sport after all. Is it something new for India to loose in a world cup? Not long ago they returned back first round then soon after won the T20 world cup in 2007.

T20 is very unpredictable. Last years loosers in the IPL were the two top teams this year. Though I would say that it was disappointing to see our top order look like jokers to some good short pitched bowling though it is no secret that Indians are always suspect. IPL is different from International cricket. It lulled our players into a false sense of security. Some of our players who displayed good form in the IPL were unable to rise to the high standards of world cricket in a short time. Sehwag was one player who could have made all the difference. And Rohit is no Sehwag. But cricket is a team game and you dont win consistantly when you heavily depend on one or two players.

I am not disappointed with India's loss per se, but I would have expected atleast one other player than yuvaraj to fire. Perhaps that is all that contributed to our downfall. A little more positive cricket from India would make the loss more bearable. This is too spineless to loose three in a row.

loosing a game is ok..... but without any sign of game spirit...
i dont know how many of you still in the side of indian team performance in last few matches...

they lost the bond between the players and dhoni really failed to bring that bond...

In My point of view there are three reasons for our defeat..
    1. V lost coordination in our team bcoz of IPL..
    2. Every player is having thought that they are the best..
    3. Dhoni lost his confidence bcoz of pressure

Dhoni come early only against minnow. Dhoni is a selfish cricketer
  • Ram · 6 months ago
Absence of Sehwag thru out the tournament & I Pathan in last two matches of super8 has become a main reason of t20 loses, also Fielding of our team was not upto the standard. Dhoni is a good captain but, as a batsman he is not upto his form since last few months & was a total failure thruout the worldcup series. So, he must recover his form & he desperately needs to lead INDIA to victory in the upcoming WI series to satisfy billions of INDIAN fans. If not, the role of Dhoni as a CAPTAIN will come to an end.
Hope Master B'r SACHIN & Zaheer to recoever soon ......

I think Dhoni has become too big for his boots. His tactics, game, media handling, etc. has become worse since the NZ tour. He was horrible during the IPL and worse during the world cup. He is the main reason 4 India's dull batting. Where has India's fearless batting as seen in NZ. Every batsman was agressive. But now due to ZDhoni's constant fiddling with the batting order such as himself(strike rate of 100) coming at No.3 or Jadeja(SR 95) makes inform batsmen like Raina lose their form. Yuvraj, Yousuf and Irfan had very few balls to face. Dhoni was the one and only reason 4 India losing the 3 games. Otherwise India would have won the England match in the 17th over if Irfan had p[layed instead of Jadeja. Dhoni should resign from the captaincy.
  • Nick · 6 months ago
Dhoni sure looks overconfident and may be bit arrogant in choosing the team and batting order and bowling changes..He was lucky enough in 2007 when everything he tried clicked because all players were in form and there were few agressive players who changed face of indian cricket. Giving last over to Joginder is always a bad move..he was lucky and it worked..Dhoni its high time now..stick to basics and do not think ur always super lucky and whatever u try will work out. I sincerely wish Dhoni and his men continue the good work in ODI and Test match arena

I think the big difference that made us loose the matches back to back is the IPL. If the schedule of IPL is made after the T20 Worldcup, then that would be much better. Here we can obviously see that the daring batsmen of delhi, Sehwag, who is our biggest asset gone hurt in IPL and ultimately went off the T20 worldcup..
I agree with Gary's statement that the Indian team must think of getting off the IPL and it would be much better if IPL recognises the importance of this issue and schedule the IPL after T20Worldcup..
