Finally Dravid's value is been known, if dravid was to be in any other country he would have been respected very high with the contributions he has made,Current set of indian team relays a lot on youth which is also a good strategy but youth mixed with solid experience is a lethal combination,

Iam Sure INDIA will rock back in camp trophy

    Best Wishes Team INDIA,
    GET THE CUP FOR US

It is very good to see the legendary Rahul Dravid 'The Great Wall of India' and 'Mr. Dependable' was selected for 30 probables, hope to see him playing for India in the Champions trophy ODI squad. But it is very bad and sad that Irfan Pathan and S Sreeshant are not included even in 30 porbables?? Really it is unfair and something is definitely wrong with the selectors, Irfan and Sreeshant are made 'bali ka bakra' by Dhoni and Srikkanth. Poor Irfan... even being in a good form, he couldn't make it to the national side, it is heart rending.. what more form he can show to attract the selectors and the captain, rather he should announce retirement from International Cricket, because the door of Indian team is almost closed for him, but it is good for him that at least Priety Zinta and Yuvraj keeps faith on him for Kings XI Punjab. Sreesanth also became a forgotten chapter fro India, actually Sreesanth made the things worse for himself by describing himself injured to be dancing in TV show 'Ek Haseena ek Khiladi', he became Dhoni's enemy by celebreting Dhoni's wicket in a starnge way (running and dancing all around the cricket ground) in IPL.

why is irfan not taken in the team he is better than ishant sharma
  • Raja · 5 months ago
very very bad selection by rejecting irfan pathan is in a match winning wonderful form,
whats problem for dhoni and srikanth axing a wonderful alrounders future.very bad decition.if irfan played in world cup knockout semifinal against england definitly we would get the worldcup winner for india. dhoni is damaging our country all the way.
  • SHR Peerzade · 5 months ago
It's heartening that "THE WALL" is back. But as usual the selector neglect the players when they r in form e.g. RP Singh & Irfan & the IPL in South Africa itself speaks. So isn't it funny???????????
Any way with all the best wishes to team INDIA.

  • praveen · 5 months ago
happy to listen, verry good dession, but bad sellection of other players and srikanth intrested to select maximum tamil nadu players y not other state..............
  • Ratna · 5 months ago
good to see Dravid back to probables...hope he will playing also. Irfan has good experience, talent than other young youngesters picked first time as probables - funny as half of them will not be next list.....!
  • samarendra · 5 months ago
Well , the selectors are totally onfused as they actually dont know in which way they are heading. They ignored greats like Rahul Dravid for two years by showing a fake propaganda of grooming youngsters .He was the scape-goat of polluted politics of indian cricked board. There is no reason now to step back and reach to the starting point.
Irfan Pathan is not as bad player as he has been potrayed by the selectors. His name should have been atleast among the probable 30s .
Not much time left for the world cup, this could be hazardous for indian cricket as the selectors are still experimenting without a clearcut idea or planning .If they really want to see India as the winner then they should first have to work themselves out.
  • Guest · 5 months ago
Really poor selection. Irfan Pathan is better choice than many others like Ravindra Jadeja, Nehra etc. Irfan is in fine form these days with both bat and bowl.

Ajit agarkar, Badrinath, Raju, anyone else left to add in Indian team??? one single loss leads players like Irfan out of the team? What a board?

At last "THE WALL" strikes....i think it is good decision from the selectors and there is no doubt that dravid is going to rock...............
  • Imtiyaz Talgharkar · 5 months ago
Its very very bad to Indian team for a Irfan Pathan is not a member of probbabels 30 men champion Trophy squad. Whay Murali Vijay? Because he is aTamil Nadu. Irfan Pathan is genion all rounder. Form is temperory but class is permanant. I am is very sure Irfan Pathan is come very soon very strongly.
  • sureez · 5 months ago
Bcci provide lot of chances to irfan but he doesnt played well. some times he will good but not all the time.
  • Don · 5 months ago
Is Pankaj Singh/B Kumar better than Irfan? Irfan has been performing consistently right from the IPL (he bowled a last over to Rohit and didnt give away 11 runs), the World T20 (came and hit 10 runs in 2 balls against Bangladesh, when everyone else was struggling, took Afriidi's wicket in the only game against Pak). With his allround skills, he surely deserves a place in the probables. Lot of guys from TN (Badri, Murali, Ashwin, Karthik), perhaps with the Chairman also being from TN! Bring in Irfan and Sreeshant for Pankaj Singh/B Kumar, Kaif for Rahane, Uthappa for MVijay, Piyush for Mishra).

    Indian wall is back...
  • indian · 5 months ago
I don't think this is a good move from the selectors. The reason is....

    1. Dravid hardly played any cric for past two years and his last 10 ODIs cost just 126 runs.
    2. If you select dravid in the 30 prob list, you have to select him in the 15 as well as in the playing 11 list. In that case, young legs like raina's and badri's hopes go for a toss.

If you are going to select dravid only for playing short deliveries, it is stupid. Short ball are going to come once in an over, which the inexperience can leave. Or they can work hard on the nets and play well. One thing we need to keep in mind is, the current young team is the foundation of 2011 wc. you can't expect Dravid to come and play in the 2011 wc (at that time he will be 39).
Now i can see the indian team is more of exp rather than the young legs.

Quick question folks... What happens to the fielding of indian team..where sachin and dravid stand in the slips. Dhoni and bowler..remaining 7 should be a live wire in the field. Please think about the remaining 7...injured shewag, injured zaheer, useless munaf..one good fielder is yuvi..how many places he can cover??
  • Nascim · 5 months ago
Dravid is not in the team just to play the bounce bowls, his presence in the batting line-up will give a definite boost to the Indian batting line-up, he can save India from any batting collapse, he can bat sensible and positively in any kind of pressure situation... that's why the world call him 'The Wall' and we Indians call him 'Mr. Dependable' as well. We can depend on 'The Wall' in any situation or in any foreign soil, because Dravid is the most succesful batsman in foreign countries more than Indian soil. Dravid is also one of the best fielders in the world, he took the maximum catches in test cricket. What the hell the young guns had done in past 2 years... huh? Only Sachin, Viru, Yuvi and Zaheer were continously performing and that's why India won many matches in last 2 years, and Sachin, Viru, Yuvi and Zaheer they all are senior players, u would say Yuvi a young... okay but he already played 9 years for India from the year 2000 along with Zaheer Khan, so they all are seniors not the young... okay? Now what your young players have done except Gambhir... hah? Gambhir also already played 6 years for India from 2003. Rohit Sharma is totally flopped in international cricket, so it is better for India to drop him as soon as posiible and include Dravid in his place to save Indian cricket dignity with faithfull batting. At least we can be assured that Dravid will play sensible cricket whenever India is in trouble, but we can't expect such things from Rohit Sharma, even we can't have faith on his batting ability but any body in this world will have faith on Dravid's ability.

S Badrinath, M Vijay, Suresh Raina, Dhoni, all from CSK.and Shrikanth is aslo from CSK.Both shrikant and Dhoni are very selfish.....Dhoni doesnt want irfan to be in the playing 11 also ...

Wats this stupid thinking. This is shame for our india. We r indians. thinking like this is very very sad....

dravid - the great wall.....is back now, is a very special news of the day... i pray he should give his best in this format, to be in playing eleven. I missed him a lot......all the best to rahul dravid and his team mates....

Hi Every one... I see all your comments some of them are really know well cricket some of them are poor in cricket... I dunno why people are blamed n anger with selector srikanth and Dhoni... to be frank it was really amazing selection lot of youngsters are included... Mr.S.K and Don see the selections proparly why u think that 4 players are in from tamilnadu... 1.Dinesh Kartik he is good form right now and he played really good innings in t20 IPL matches for delhi.. he is very talented player now only he got platform in playin XI's... 2. S.Badrinath he got lot of experience in first class carreer, he is in great touch ryt now aslo he proved in ipl t20 but we are not given dat much of chances in india... He is really the Next wall of India after dravid... 3. Murali vijay he got chance once in one test match against australia he is played well on his debut after dat he didnt got any chance for him.. 4. Ashwin people know him very well he is proved on his off spin on IPL.. he played only one match but he is more important on that game... after that we didnt give any chance for him... See these players are really got talent n ready for serve india... my point is selectors really done very well job hands off to srikanth n dhoni...

Welcome back Dravid....We never your contribution to Indian Cricket as a Batsman, Keeper and Captain...... All the Da Best
  • vkk · 5 months ago
They can include sreesanth in the list atleast. Because if there is risk less match, they can check his consistency by giving rest to zak or Ishe
  • vkk · 5 months ago
there is no Manish Pandey, who plays for IPL Bangalore and scored the only cent in IPL-2
Rohit is really a utter waste for ODI Team. He will lose the confidence of other playrs also by giving away his wicket or wasting balls.
  • MURUGESH · 5 months ago
WHO IS THAT BLUDDY INDIAN,DOYOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CRICKET AND DRAVID,HE IS THE MAN WHO COULD PLAY BEAUTIFUL CRICKET SHOTS EVEN AT THE AGE OF 60
  • K.Govi · 5 months ago
Manish Pandey can also be considered...
  • Subho · 5 months ago
He is one of the best batsmans in the world, no doubt... I'm a fan of him... Though he was not a very good wicket keeper... But he stood strong behind the stumps to give Indian team more flexibility... I want you back in ODI team as soon as possible... But, somebody wrote about his captaincy, sorry... he wasn't that gr8 captain...
  • Nascim · 5 months ago
Under Dravid's captaincy India won 17 ODI match continously by chasing which is a world record. Dravid won the Test series in Pakistan after 16 years in 2003... while leading India for 1st time, okay? He won the Test series in England as well right before his resignation as captain, India under Dravid was flopped only twice, 1st in South Africa in 2007 and again in thw World Cup '07, but right after the World Cup India won in Bangladesh, won tri-nation tournament against South Africa in Belfast (Ireland), and also won the Test Series in England and Dravid was in great form of his life when he was captain, nobodly else were in such form when they were captain, Dhoni is in good batting form only in ODI but not in Tests but Dravid was successfull batsman in both ODIs and Tests. Dravid's maximum innings were proved as the match-winning knock even from pressure situation Dravid played many match-winning knock and headed India win despite it's batting collapse many times. More importantly Dravid resigned as captain when India was doing very good under his captaincy.
  • Bhagavath · 5 months ago
Dravid was unceremoniously ousted from the team just after failure in one series. Till date I haven't heard one complaint from Dravid in the media. This shows the class of Dravid off the pitch. On the pitch, he is going to show what he is capable of. It is really unfortunate that he missed one & half years of ODI cricket because of some egoistic selectors (Particularly Venksarkar) & Dhoni's young formula.
  • Praveen Ramsetty · 5 months ago
Dravid been a key player in Indian Side since 1998.. But Our selectors shown a partiality against him for no reason.. He z the only Consistant batsman for a long time for INDIA, but I feel he was not treated well by the selectors.. Its a time for Rahul to Rock again.. Its better to keep him playing till next world cup.. He z the master class and need no explanation about it.. I Hope, He will get a chance in 15 and in 11 squad also.. I wish Him all the best..Atlast, Our selectors found his ability .. He was out of ODI squad for some personal reasons.. It snot fair all the time..Rahul provided his services to INDIAN team nore than any other player (As a batsman n Wicket keeper).. respect him......
  • rishikesh · 5 months ago
finaly selectors realise that without dravid our indian team is like a bird without wings,,,,,,,,,,,,
so they had 2 choose dravid...........
    it's great..............

Hello Mr.Nascim... see i m the pure indian ok... i m not support for madrasi players like dinesh kartik, M.Vijay, S.badrinath and ashwin... N moreover sorry for ur wrong thinking i m not madrasi... i m born n bought in delhi ok... actually i answer for those who are thinking that selectors had mistake of these player n they are not in form... i always said selectors doin excellent job and dnt blame on him... i appreciate for not these players also included for playes like Abhishek nayar, wridhiman saha and virak kohli... why dnt u people not thinking these players... i know omition of irfan is bad think only anyway i hope he i will back in strong position... Mr.Nascim said i talkin only abt that 4 tamilnadu players not like dat mr. u jus think wats problem for badrinath, vijay n ashwin inclusion... i think u dnt know cricket that much... ashwin is fantastic bowler i m sure if he get chance definetly he proved himself... the only problem is in india is if any players are playin good like two games they are proud him... dats wat mr.nascim proud of dinesh kartik but before that two matches no one talking abt kartik why it is he get chance proved him self dats it... but i m not talking like dat i know abt these players first class carreer n records... eventhough i m sad of omition manish pandey but he have an age to prove him self more strongly... so i m not support for some state i support for who are valuable for INDIA!!! CHAK DE INDIA!!!
