Dhoni plays a very important role in taking Indian Team to one of their disastrous defeat. Dhoni has initially made a statement that Indian Team is not good at defending the title. This statement itself shows the morale and spirit of the team. If the Captain of the Ship makes such statement, then think about the fate and spirit of the Sailors. If you are of that Mind, you should not have gone to play T20 at the first place.
With West Indies match, Dhoni played an important role in letting off the wicket of Bravo and allowed Mr. Bravo to play the brave knock in winning the match.
With England match, Dhoni won the toss. In such a crucial and do-or-die match, when you won the toss, you should bat first and try to put high score, which will put pressure on the opponent team. Recall the last year T20 match, we piled up high score, which put England in pressure and we won the match. This is past and now in the recent game, we were too lucky to restrict England to a modest score of 153 otherwise, they would have pile up a huge score around 180 to 190, then what will happen to our Indian batting line up. Another thing to consider is that, when you are playing such T20 game, not only you, every team will try to use their strongest weapon as early as possible. Dhoni, you should have allowed Yuvraj Singh or Yousuf Pathan at top order rather than sending Ravinder Jadeja at the top order, who scored 20 odd runs from 35 balls, which cannot be compared with the batting standard of Dravid. On the other hand, Ravinder Jadeja got a good chance to confirm his place in Indian Team and to show the State that he got good cricketing brain and he has not utilised the same, for which he will regret.

I dont know what the hell dhoni has done in this tournament. it is basic common sense that is lacking in dhoni that cost us really in this tournament. Here are the simple things he should have done. its still baffling why he failed to do so.
1) Why there is a musical chairs for number three position? why dhoni opted himself where there are so many batsmen who are in superb form?
2) Did he aware of the players who scored well in IPL. how come he ignored the efforts of RP Singh?
3) He got an golden opportunity of including Dinesh Karthick in the eleven which he did not do? He should also have opted for Manish Pandey for injured sehwag if not karthick.
4) I dont know what the hell 5 bowlers will do in 20-20? Zaheer, Ishant, Irfan, Ojha and Bhajji. 5 bowlers should be used when you need to get 20 wickets in test match, not in 20-20. We have number of players who can complete the 5th bowler quota like yuvraj, raina, rohit & yousuf.
5) Dinesh kartick should have included in place of irfan.Karthick should have in opener shoes instead of rohit. Rohit already proved that he is a good finisher.
6) How come street smart bowler Praveen kumar ignored, he is much better than ishant in 20-20. 20-20 is not for the guys who believe in line & length. its all about teasing batsmen. Praveen would have added value for the lower middle order.

reply to each of your points in order:
1. this is the same strategy that people called innovative when india won games. it was to play with the opposition's minds.
2. each side can only have 11 players playing at a time mate. india's current squad is as good as, if not better than, any other team.
3. look at point 2 and 6
4. look at india's batting power on paper. the top 6 batsmen can demolish any attack. bowling at the death was india's weakness, which was addressed by including a 5th specialist bowler.
5. barring the super 8s, rohit gave india amazing starts; karthik would not have been able to do that. everyone said he was the ideal replacement for sehwag then.
6. look at ishant's performance in the warm up matches. he may not be a good death bowler, but he's an amazing middle overs bowler. as for praveen adding value to the middle order, look at point 3.

Guys do consider this... This is a team of youngsters who had turned the world up-side down after their recent wins and then this loss, don't know why people go berserk abusing them. Agreed - it is a World Cup, but this does not mean the end of the world for India. Same was the reaction when India were out in the first round during the 50-50 World Cup. People were after Dravid's head then. Later Dhoni came by and took India to a T20 WC victory and everything was forgotten. I don't understand this fanaticism of putting some one high over the head and then stamping him under the foot after two losses. End of the day.. it is cricket. There will be wins and losses. I have never liked dhoni and frankly speaking these days I turn off my TV whenever he comes on to bat...its irrtating to see him work the balls for 1 or 2..when u need big hits...also he is the biggest coward i have ever seen..If u have noticed he promotes himself in batting order if the against team is weak like bangladesh or ireland or if the pitch is batter friendly...NO DOUGT india has done good under his captancy for past 2 years, but I STRONGLY believe its due to his luck factor, which came to an end this T20 cup....KICK HIM OUT...Bring Dinesh Kartik a batsman in much better form if u have seen IPL 2009.

Indian Team failure needs nobody's sympothy. I guess Indian T20 team is good enough team for One day cricket, not for T20 especially at this T20 world cup thats why they could beat Bangladesh & Irland only. T20 Strategy is entirely different from One day. It needs some pure all rounders along with pure batsmans instead of pure bowlers eapecially with Indian Team composition. Indian Pace bowlers are waste bowlers in T20 especially bowlers like Ishanth sharma, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, praveen kumar etc. B'coz they can bowl without any meaning and strategy, they just bowl blindly with some pace in terms of speed only and never bothered about how to control the runs. BCCI has to think it over while selecting the Indian team for T20 in future. Indian team's failure is not just coz of fielding or batting or bowling, its a team failure. I don't agree with dhoni's words that they did not put their full efforts up to the mark on the field. Entire team is responsible for the failure and they have to accept it.

Those who has a little bit of technical idea abt cricket can easily identify Dhoni's batting depth.
Disadvantages :-
1. not good in pull shorts.
2. Coverdrive is almost impossible.
3. Faces difficulties to play on the rise.
4. Poor in flicks.
5. Lot more ...
Advantages :-
1. Can intelligently change bowling & feildings. (This is kind of gambling u may lucky some time or may not be & i think this can be done by any ordinary persons.)
2. Fast between wickets.
3. Puts pressures to oppositions by taking singles & doubles. (which is good for one day but not for 20 20 )
4. Smart enough to handle media,team & others.

India did not learn from the Westindies game.

Dhoni ha sgone down somewhat as a batsmen and has also gone down as a keeper.Karthik has not nearly playes as much as Dhoni. It will be interesting to see Karthink in the side as a Batsmen and then if he does well it will be pressure on Dhoni:)

Dhoni in 2006 is different what he isnow... he needs to go and hit all the balls...

Dear friends...it really make me sad when we pakistani&Indian fans insult our players. we should keep in mind that how many time all these great players made ud proud, one bad day in the field does speake their weakness or irresposibility.we should support them when they need the most. Hi Guys :
Dhoni has to accept that he is not performing well upto his potential in 20/20 matches and shoud resign . India shoud have different captain like Yasuf pathan for 20/20 matches . We should routate captain whoever is performing well and dynamic and constantly performing . I also request everyone to verify Dhoni scores since last year then speak about him whether he is fit for 20/20 matches or not.
We are putting lot of money on IPL to improve our team performance and that should show constant talent on top of any team in the world.

BCCI should pay 50% as standard payment and remaining pay should be based on the player performance of 4's ,6's hits and 50's , 100's . So player has play well to get remaining variable pay. Hope everyone shoud accept it.

I am strongly agreed with Gary Kristen comment about IPL, it will effect mentally and physically about the players and I am totally disagreeing for Dhoni’s resign from the Captaincy. Every team has a good and bad face … what about the last Word cup … it was the complete team effort. Have you seen any team effort this year … I am not agreeing about this comment? If you want to verify with Dinesh Kartik, I am totally disagree I has enough talent to be in front of Dhoni. I am totally disagreeing about the team selection and the betting line up for the team. You should put Yuvi bit upper slide with Yusuf Pathan and you feel from last 2 to 3 matches, Ishant is not performing, why you have Ishant in the team. I would say, team selection is the big factor and few decisions which took India out of the rid.

I think Dhoni goes to bat thinking that he would just take singles or at the most 2. If you have small goal, you achieve even smaller. So he manages to take just single even from a bad ball. He must learn from Yuvraj who hits the ball well and for him neither single nor a boundary is a problem.
Dinesh Kartik is certainly a much better player then Dhoni. He undertakes all the responsibilities well. Keeps the wicket better, more energatic and a better fielder.
This T20 has been full of Dhoni's mistakes. First he didn't give much chance to Raina to bat in warm matches by coming at no. 3 himself. Second he didn't give bowling to Raina or Rohit Sharma, who bowled exceptionally well in IPL. Was Dhoni jealous of other's better performance?

Its not a single man game like tennis we need team spirit. Lord's is not a small ground it has a boundry above 92m but other ground are avg 72m. Is this correct???? so that jadeja cant hit boundry, he was a hard hitter.....

Who r all commenting that we defeated because of dhoni is foolish. Fools only talk like this. First you take a history of dhoni captainship. we won srilanka, england, australia sequencially. is any captain done like this. no one. Those r the record done by indian team. Game has both side lossing and winning. Loss is a steping stone of success.

some one told jadeja makes big mistake. also replace yuvi by jadeja in 2 down. Think like this ifff yuvi out means we were 30/3 and we loss 3 hitters(r.sharma,raina,yuvi) cause thats a situation we need to stand. I know jadeja made a big mistake that he didnt score well in this tour but thats not mistake of dhoni. jadeja was a big hitter in rajasthan.

ICC made terrible thing. Lord's has a boundry line more than 92m. some ground has 64m at natiigam. is this correct we need same distance on each ground. ICC should made same distance. Other games like football,baseball has same distance on each ground why not cricket......

Guys, Every one blaming Dhoni... thats his fate today... please remember he is the only captain apart from Kapil Dev who got a World cup for India... May be people see from current perspective, he is not doing well with the bat... I think we all must send a Thanks letter to Mr. Lalit Modi for two successes in a row : 1) Successful completeion of IPL 2009 and 2) successful tharshout of Team India in ICC T20 World Cup. But he shud be a happy man coz his ego is satisfied that he organized the IPL and also coz he has earned with open hands in IPL 2009. The players and BCCI will never blame IPL coz there pockets and mouths are full of money they got from IPL but we cannot rule out the poor show by the Indian team in ICL T20 World Cup. Don't u think so ???

Also can Mr. Lalit Modi answer y he dint donate such huge amounts to charity last year when IPL was held in India??? Is he having some hidden relations with SA or he only wants his name ???

Both these points clearly indicate the affection of GR8 Mr. Lalit Modi and the whole Money minded BCCI towards there own nation.

Just watch last edition of T20 Cup, the way they played aggressively against teams like Australia and South Africa...compare this with this year...its not even 10% of what they played last year...

They played as though they will be awarded the Cup this year whatsoever...

Stop the IPL first...its killing the players and also takes the sheen out of international fixtures like the World Cup...and that idiot is taking about hosting 2 IPLs....ridiculous!!!!

No use in blaming individuals when the entire system is at fault...

dhoni is the worst batsmen i have seen in my life . even ishant and rp singh plays well than dhoni. The only thing which suits 4 dhoni style of play is test cricket that also he is not doing well. Its better 4 india that dhoni retires as early as possible. dhoni is a ball eating machine which decreases runrate n increases pressure on other batsmen. i hate dhoni.

It is a fault of negative attitude of our players. Dhoni himself confessed that he had left the hopes when he came into the middle. We needed 69 off 34 balls that time. We scored 65 off those 34 balls. We could have won the match if both batsmen would have smashed at least 2 sixes in the last over of Swann. Anyway letz hope for success in windies tour with players going ahead with high morale and positive attitude.

I think Dhoni did everything right, right from winning the toss n chosing to field 1st,

153 in 20-20 format! Indian bowlers really did wel, n mind u dhoni did not use any part time bowler like Yuvi, rohit or pathan...

The reason for not getting a target of 153 could be only one thing that our batting did not perform, atleast one among Gambhi, Raina or Rohit should have gone for hitting... Or I say Englad bowlers did a really good job..? (dont think so)

Dhoni took some risks and they back fired, so whats the big deal..? These risks have won India so many titles... Remember when India with totally unexperienced team, went to SA for 2007 20-20 WC..? Dhoni was heading then n what happens in the end, India wins the 1st TT WC...

N guys finally, if anyone here thinks if he ws in the place of Dhoni in the last WC's final match, would have given the final over to Joginder Sharma when misbah ws batting..?!!

Half of the thrill and excitement has gone out of this t20 competition with because the men in blue bring so much to the game that the fans will miss in the knock out stage.
I will cheer for India,except when they play against Pakistan.They really are a good team Indian fans must be patient bcoz this team can still bring lot of good for India

Dhoni and the cricket players in India should spend more time practicing, not advertising. BCCI should allow them for ads only on Saturday/Sundays, afterall they are paying huge salaries to them
