    Wow! What a spirit when you are on a receiving end! This was the same captain who had ignored all the sportsmanship during India's test match at Sydney? He had claimed twice the catches which were not taken and umpire given one out beleiving Ricky's words. So, Ricky don't say anything on sportsmanship. Your team (particularly you) don't have the right to talk on it

    Rightly said deelip.... Let me remind all of you that So many occasions Ponting has questioned umpire's decision on the field.. and the worst behavior of the Ponting on the filed was with Rahul Dravid, How many times u all have seen Dravid loosing the temper, I am sure Ponting must have used rude language... Its ridiculous Ponting... You dont have right to question anybody on spirit of the game.. you urself don't have it in you...

    Completely agree...it was ridiculous to see the 12th man coming out twice in 2 overs...Come on England, show some spirit atleast...u were outplayed completely by Australia..Dont use such dirty tactics to avoid defeat....

    australia batted to much in the first innings....they should have declared the innings after the lead of 200 runs....if they should have done that they could have won the match...they also no the weather forecast before play itself....any way england batmans r not fighting against the australians....way they played this two innings england has no chance to lift the trophy..they have to brought back the pacer harminson for the next match..if any chance to damage the australian line up..;..

    I doubt not only "australian captain sportsmanship" but the whole australia team's sportsmanship. They never play a single match without sledging. Ricky, you must become a politician after retirement...!!! ;-)

    well said, people realize only when they are at the receiving end. there is still time left in this series and we will see the sportsmanship if the positions are reversed, i.e., if England have an upperhand...

    Once a Favorite team today I wish to see Australia losing to Bangladesh and Kenya - soley because Australians over the years have won many times by the grace of umpires .Pointing should realise that people staying in glass houses should not throw stones .We still as a team Australia is still a very stong team -perhaps far better than England . Peiterson and Colingwood are the only two players whom England can relay .Peiterson - should see a Psychiatrist for his habit of throwing wicket .Perhaps in modern day cricket there is no better sight than to see him play when he gets going - A mix of grace and power . I do not think Panesar is a threst to any bataman .

    Look whose talking....come on Ricky...think before you speak, the captain of most dishonest and rude team in the history of cricket is talking about game spirit. Atleast not from us then to some extent learn from your own team mate Adam Gilchrist about game spirit...

    The arrogant loser punter is fuming when he is at the receiving end.

    Has he forgotten the Sydney test match when he had twice appealed for a one bounce catch.
    And he had even displayed his umpiring skills by raising his finger.

    Someone pls remind him of all these.

    From ponting's remarks its clear that nobody likes to be rubbed the wrong way..even the bloody minded Austrailans.......the australians better understand this other teams dont like it either when aussies sledge and call names to players of other teams or use tactics like these.

    C'mon ponting ...Australians have been doing all this tomfoolery all their lives....so why cry now when somebody does it to you and your team...i think u deserve such things...getting a taste of ur own medicine....hahaha

    Ashokbe , if you read the article you would see that ponting did not blame england's lack of sportsmanship for not winning the test. I agree the aussies are not very sporting but they seem to be improving in that regard, and remember CA has taken measures to improve their image....on the other hand england's actions were pathetic...if you're gonna lose, lose like a man.

    Ricky pointing shouldn't say anything about SPORTSMANSHIP ....we have seen his DIGNITY & SPORTSMANSPIRIT many times especially when they play against Indian team........On the other hand credit should be givin to ENGLAND team ,they are able to save the game by any means no matter fair or unfair....( australian team have played SYDNEY TEST in the same way........)
